Susan, otherwise known as DJ Mousai, has a deep passion for kizomba and all its related genres. She discovered kizomba while at a Cuban Salsa festival in Sydney and instantly fell in love with the dance and music. Since then she has travelled around Australia and Europe developing her dance and musical knowledge, dancing as both the lead and follow. Her European dance travels further fuelled her passion for kizomba, semba, urban kiz and kiz fusion and developed her musical ear.
After traveling overseas, she worked to develop the technical knowledge of kizomba dancing and to enhance the musical experience and energy during kizomba parties. She also wanted to broaden the kizomba scene’s acceptance and enjoyment of semba, tarraxinha, tarraxo and kompa dancing and music and douceur music.
Susan is the Organiser of AACE Festival – Australian Afro Connection Experience and Founder of Afro Connection. She is also the Co-Founder of One Love Entertainment Australia, which hosts regular social events called Wakanda Vibes, predominantly focusing on Afrobeats and Dancehall music and showcasing Afro-Australian young talent.
